Apple Fritter Bread

Here is another yummy fall treat that will leave your tummy satisfied and house smelling amazing!

Gather your ingredients…

Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl. Set aside.

In another medium-sized bowl, beat white sugar and butter together until smooth.

Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, until blended in; add in vanilla.

Combine & whisk flour and baking powder together in another bowl.

Add into creamed butter mixture and stir until blended.

Add milk into batter until smooth.

Layer in loaf pan:

half the batter

half the apple mixture (lightly press apples into batter)

half the brown sugar/cinnamon mixture.

Repeat.

Cool for 15 minutes

Prepare glaze while you wait.

Apple Fritter Bread

Bread:
1/3 C light brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
2/3 C white sugar
1/2 C butter softened
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 C all-purpose flour
1 3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 C milk\
2 apples, peeled & diced ,

(mix with 2 Tbs granulated sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon)

Glaze:
1/2 C of powdered sugar
1-3 Tbs of milk or cream- depending on thickness of glaze wanted

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Use a 9×5-inch loaf pan. Coat with shortening and lightly flour.

2. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl. Set aside.

3. In another medium-sized bowl, beat white sugar and butter together until smooth.

4. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, until blended in; add in vanilla.

5. Combine & whisk flour and baking powder together in another bowl.

6. Add into creamed butter mixture and stir until blended.

7. Add milk into batter until smooth.

8. Layer in the following order: half the batter; then half the apple mixture (lightly press apples into batter), then half the brown sugar/cinnamon mixture. Repeat.

9. Swirl brown sugar mixture through apples using knife or spoon.

10. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean, approximately 50-60 minutes.

11. For glaze, mix powdered sugar and milk together until well mixed.

12. Let cool for about 15 minutes before drizzling with glaze.
