CBD Cream with Borage ~ @DailyGoodieBox #FreeSamples

This CBD Cream with Borage, in my Daily Goodie Box, came at the perfect time. I was having a ridiculous spasm in my calf and decided this would be the time to test this out. Now, most of the CBD products I have tried haven’t really worked for my chronic pain, but will relieve minor annoyances.

So I rubbed some of this on my calf, and within 15 minutes, the spasms lessened greatly. These spasms were going for a good 30 minutes and I was going a bit crazy. I am going to keep this in my nightstand, for quick applications.

I received this product for FREE in my Daily Goodie Box. See below on how to get your very own Daily Goodie Box.

A Zebra’s Life: Weekly Wrap Up (11/7/21)

Each Sunday, I will try to wrap up what has happened the past week. The good, the bad, and the ugly.
There will be links and discussion points throughout the post.
I might not always have something to share, in each section, so check back the next week.
I hope you find some stuff that interests you and feel free to comment at the bottom of the post.

Discussion Topics will be in PURPLE. Feel free to comment at the bottom 👇🏻 👇🏻

In the Health Chat section, I will update you on my Endometriosis, Ehlers-Danlos & Fibromyalgia

Endometriosis: this has been a bad week. Intense stabbing pains. Extreme fatigue. Just over it! The last few days have been more than I can handle. I’ve been in bed and it’s driving me crazy. I feel helpless. I need to get through this “episode” so I can get back to it.

Ehlers Danlos: I’ve been running errands more lately, so I’m more exhausted than usual. My right shoulder has been popping constantly. There have been a few times, at night, where I put my arm under my pillow, when I lay on my side… and my shoulder pops out and will immediately pop back in when I readjust. But it is still ridiculously uncomfortable each time it happens.

Fibromyalgia: more cramps and spasms this week. It’s all over, too. Face, legs, arms, fingers, stomach… everywhere. Not all at once, thank goodness. Still frustrating.

In this section, I will share any products that I think are 4 -5 stars (in my book)

Incredibly happy that we got this i-200 Hover. To start, the colors are awesome! Love the black finish. Next, we were mesmerized by the wheel lights. Both the tread lights, as well as the wheel itself, used LED lights and a mirror for a hypnotic infinite effect. Once our son got on the Hover he was already a pro. He knew exactly what to do to get it to move forward and backwards, and even spinning. I couldn’t believe how easy he made it look. I tried (40+yr old female) and I was shaking, couldn’t stand up straight. I felt old. For the next two hours, my son played on this thing, jamming out to his favorite tunes through the Bluetooth speakers and enjoying the light show. The charge time can take up to 6 hours, but the light on the power supply changed from red to green. And the Hover can go up to 7mph. So happy we got the I-200 Hover. Hours of fun.

Chronic Pain Wish List 2021

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases #CommissionsEarned

Last year, I made a list for those of us that live with Chronic Pain. Click picture below to view that list, complete with links.

I wanted to create that list again this year, with any newer products that I have found over the past year. And there may be a few of the same products from last year, if they are still my favorites.

We spend a lot of time in bed and dealing with whatever flare or problem we are having that day. Many of these products I own and would recommend to anyone needing a little bit of relief. I have links to direct products or to a broader search. I hope or your loved ones are able to find an item or two that will help you make it through your day, just a little easier.

Every night, I wrap myself in the heating pad wrap. And then pull on the foot and leg massager. When I have those deep muscle problems, I pull out the massage gun or the Body Back Buddy to address that specific pain.

Teas are supposed to be good. I don’t drink it as much as I should, but I am hoping this winter I will try a lot more variety when it comes to my hot beverages.

So here is the 2021 Chronic Pain Wish List:

Muscle Massage Gun Deep Tissue for Athletes, Portable Body Neck Back Muscle Massager for Pain Relief with 8 Massage Heads 30 Speed – $39.99

This is one of my newer purchases. I got a killer deal on it and snagged one for $15. I pulled a muscle in my booty the other day, I used this and it really helped relieve the tension knot that had built up. Usually a pain like this will last for many days, maybe a week. After using this, the knot was gone in 2 days. BIG FAN!

Cure Choice XL Electric Heating Pad for Back Pain Relief, Ultra Soft 24″x33″ Heating pad for Muscle Cramps – $39.95 (3 Colors)

I use this multiple times a day: back, neck, arms, legs. My mom has one as well and is enjoying it.

2021 Apple 11-inch iPad Pro (Wi‑Fi, 128GB) – Silver – $749.00

There is a lot of resting, when it comes to chronic pain. An ipad is handy to have: log medication, record daily pain, watch a movie… you know what ipads are for. (Bigger than a phone, smaller than a laptop. Easier to carry around)

Bluetooth Sleep Eye Mask Headphones, TOPLANET Sleeping Headphones with Timer Wireless 3D Sleep Mask, Music Play Sleeping Headphones with Built-in HD Speaker – $19.79 (2 Colors)

Sleep can often be disturbed, this will help block out the light. Also, play any playlist through the Bluetooth speakers (around the ears).

Comfier Cordless Foot and Leg Massager with Heat – Rechargeable Compress Massager Foot and Calf Massager with Multiple Settings – $49.96

I won this from the Comfier Facebook page, a while ago. I use it every day. It really helps my legs and feet destress from the day.

Body Back Buddy Classic – Trigger Point Massage Tool, Neck and Back Massager Handheld, Manual Self Massager – $29.95 (3 Colors)

I’ve had this for years. It can really get into a spot that needs a lot of attention. Apply as much or as little pressure as you need.

Elitehood Ice Cold Pack Reusable Ice Bags Hot Water Bag for Injuries, Hot & Cold Therapy and Pain Relief with Elastic Breathable Support Wrap, 4-Pack – $15.99

Variety Tea Gift Set- Tea Lovers Gift Basket Includes 18 Tea Flavors, Double Insulated Cup, Stroopwafels, Honey Jar and Dipper – $31.88

Heat Holders – Hats, Gloves, Scarves

Circulation can be frustrating. Our hands and feet can be cold, constantly.

This is my too tired to function tshirt – $19.94 (5 Colors)

I have this shirt in 3 colors. My husband bought these for me, so I could wear this when I’m having a bad pain day and don’t want to have to explain anything… to anyone.

Other suggestions:

We spend a lot of time in bed. We need to be as comfy as we can and not have to move around too much. Sometimes, we just need to curl up in bed with a nice, soft blanket… cuddle up with some pillows and watch TV. Here are a few more suggestions for those “Bed Rest” days.

Endometriosis: I have had a rough week. Spent a lot of time in bed. Heating pad on my belly. Just zero energy.

In this section, I will share anything that has to do with gardening, flowers, birds, patio stuff, etc…

My Cosmos are ridiculously tall. Right now, they are at 70″. That’s just crazy. I couldn’t believe they survived the storms and wind earlier this week. They were at 45 degrees in the wind, but today they are straight up and beautiful.

I have given up on the pumpkins. So many flowers, not one pumpkin. And then the roots got all messed up. I will try again next year.

The cucamelons are looking a little bigger. But haven’t taken any off the vine yet. I’ll post pictures when it’s time.

There will only be a few things this week. I hurt my hand and wasn’t typing much the first part of the week. Trying to catch up.

Next week will have a lot more, as products are coming in.

In the Health Chat section, I will update you on my Endometriosis, Ehlers-Danlos & Fibromyalgia

Ehlers Danlos: Earlier this week, I was shaking out a trash bag and somehow my thumb got caught up in it. Before I knew it, my thumb bent all the way back. This first half of the week, I wore a brace on my hand. Now, I’m not wearing the brace, but my hand feels different. Not holding things the same way. Loss of strength. I hope this goes away or “fixes” itself. I am able to function more today than I was at the beginning of the week.

The St. Louis Cardinals season came to an end this past Wednesday.

Since then, I have caught myself up on Law & Order: SVU & Organized Crime. I’m a big fan of Dick Wolf and all of his series.

I also watch a lot of Bravo. Most of the Housewives, Below Deck (all of them), I need to catch up on Vanderpump Rules, too. The reality shows help me escape from my own troubles for a little bit each day.

In the Health Chat section, I will update you on my Endometriosis, Ehlers-Danlos & Fibromyalgia

My Endometriosis: I am beginning to think that this last Laparoscopy didn’t do much but “stop me up” for a few weeks. I am still having cramps and pains right before I take my hormones AND right before I start my period. The periods (themselves) have been more painful, than before the surgery.

My Ehlers-Danlos: I went to a funeral yesterday and while I reached to hug a friend, my right shoulder dislocated. I immediately pulled my right arm back and finished the hug with my left arm. (Yes, we were all masked and vaxxed). So I had to stand in the line, to give my condolences, with my right arm throbbing, starting to go numb, shooting pains. The purse I had on was blocking a nerve, as well. So that was making the situation so much worse. I then broke out in hot flashes, while standing in line. This was a very challenging hour for me to push through (absolutely worth it!).

My Fibromyalgia: Not too much to update on this. In pain, everyday. I have stomach issues, often… I am always tired. Some days are worse than others.

I have really enjoyed watching my pumpkins grow. This is my first time trying and it has been a blast. This week, I have been watching the flowers change from green to a yellowish color. These could open any day now.

I was outside Saturday, between rain, and noticed that we have a cucamelon growing. There are actually maybe 5ish growing that I can see. Some look like tiny green grapes, others are bigger like this one pictured >>>.

A lot of my TV time is being spent watching my St. Louis Cardinals. I have been a fan since I was a kid. I am not a fair weather fan. I love them through the good and the bad. What they have done the last few weeks has been truly amazing. I have observed some plays that I have NEVER seen before.

Did you see this play?

The St. Louis Cardinals will play this Wednesday (10/6/2021) for the NL Wild Card Game, either against the Dodgers or the Giants.

A Zebra’s Life: Weekly Wrap Up (9/12/21)

Each Sunday, I will try to wrap up what has happened the past week. The good, the bad, and the ugly. There will be links and discussion points throughout the post. I might not always have something to share, in each section, so check back the next week. I hope you find some stuff that interests you and feel free to comment at the bottom of the post.

In the Health Chat section, I will update you on my Endometriosis, Ehlers-Danlos & Fibromyalgia

This week has been a bit challenging. Still having stomach issues. From one extreme to the other. I have also been cramping a lot and not even close to my period. Hot flashes, night sweats… all the menopause symptoms and still have the period. Doesn’t that sound like fun? (Obviously, I am being sarcastic).

Thinking there may still be an issue and that the laparoscopy wasn’t as successful as I first thought. Or the ovarian cysts are back. Who knows?! I will just have to contact the doc tomorrow and go from there. One day at a time, right?

In The Great Outdoors section, I will share anything that has to do with gardening, flowers, birds, patio stuff, etc…

I spend a lot of time in backyard for mental therapy. I need little breaks, here and there, and my backyard has been doing that for me. I have flowers, bird feeders, lights, a hammock… everything to just try and relax for a bit.

This has been a fun week with my gardening. I wanted to try growing some produce for the first time. I don’t have my hopes up too high but what I have planted is looking pretty awesome.

One last sunflower is in bloom. I loved these. Can’t wait until next year, I’m going to plant a ton of sunflowers – yellow & red.

The hummingbirds are loving their new feeder! The colors are amazing and definitely gets the bird’s attention.

Also, I got a great deal on these adorable Solar Lights. They add just enough light to the rock path, I can see where I’m going. Love them!

I will post more about my friend, “Skip”, the silver spotted skipper (Butterfly). There is just so much to add into the post, I want to make sure I included everything. The bond I have with this butterfly is unreal. I was just outside watering, and “Skip” flew over to the flowers I was spraying, and flapped its wings, like “Hi! I’m here!”

Do you garden? If so, what’s in your garden?

In The Favorite Foods section, I will share any new foods that I have tried or that I am currently obsessed with

Sampler launched a new program with Orangina. At first, I wasn’t sure if I’d like it but once I took my first sip, I was in love. My husband and son both enjoyed it as well. I would describe it was a sparkling orange juice. We tried it in the morning and it was absolutely delicious. We all agree we need to buy more of this stuff!

After my last Daily Goodie Box, I am still obsessed with Baja Jerky (street taco) .
This would be a great Stocking Stuffer for any jerky lovers out there.

In The Shows & Streaming section, I will share any thoughts on the shows I am currently watching

After a few months of watching The Good Wife, I finally finished. I absolutely love this show. The cast, the story lines, everything. Next week, I’ll start the The Good Fight.

Bachelor in Paradise: absolutely disgusted by the behavior of Chris & Brendan. So much lying and sneaking. So unattractive! Not too happy with the way their ladies are acting either. They all kinda deserve each other.

What are your favorite shows? Are you binging anything right now?

This year, I have become obsessed with the “Good Vibes” motto and fashion. I have these in most colors for tank tops, a couple of sweatshirts and some long sleeved t-shirts with pockets. Every time I wear one of these, I am reminded to have good vibes. It’s a mental thing.

Stitches out and back to blogging!

Today, I got my stitches out! It’s amazing how much better my belly button feels without the tugging and pulling. Sitting up, especially at a dining table or my desk, was more uncomfortable that I remember from the first laparoscopy.

I do have to say that I am surprised at how well I am doing, one week post surgery. I truly believe that if I stayed in bed longer than the surgery day and day after, my Fibro/EDS flares would have been way worse. On day 3, I forced myself to get up more and so grateful I did.

Now, if only I could get rid of the constant joint popping every time I move, the spontaneous roaming pains, random dislocations and the constant stomach issues…

I have a Daily Goodie Box to unbox and a few other cool products I’ve tested lately.

Update on my #Endometriosis ~

I last wrote about a month ago. It feels like so much has happened. Let’s catch up…

Waiting for results after my ultrasound

After my ultrasound at the end of July, my doctor and I decided it was time for another laparoscopy. The ultrasound did show that my endometriosis was back and that there were some ovarian cysts.

Since I can’t control pain in any other aspect of my life, I wanted to lessen something that could be helped.

This past Tuesday, I underwent my second Laparoscopy. I was very nervous on the days leading up to it, but we had to arrive at 5am the morning of and I was too busy getting ready to “panic” anymore.

My dear husband got up with me and drove. Waited in the parking lot to get the call that I was out. All I remember waking up is that I couldn’t wait to see my husband. I just feel at peace when I see his face.

So the day of the surgery, I guess I wasn’t feeling too much pain. Still had the good stuff wearing off. But I could not get comfortable. At all. I didn’t sleep much, just rested. The hydrocodone didn’t really seem to help much at all, which was a bummer.

The next morning/day was the worst. I was set in a specific position for the duration of my surgery. So that caused a horrific flare in my back and neck. It hurt so bad, hurt to breathe. Hurt to move, sneeze. It was awful. Ice needed to be applied off and on to the incision sites for the first 48 hours. And I’m glad I did. I would have been even worse.

Day 3 was better. I was able to get up and move around a bit more. And each day (4-6) since, I have been forcing myself to get up and move around. Water the plants. Try to do a little bit of laundry. Spent a little time with Skip, our backyard butterfly (Silver Spotted Skipper). I’ll definitely be posting more about this. I have made a friend and it’s quite funny.

I am anxious to get the stitches out on Tuesday for my follow up appointment. That is the most annoying. It is pulling my belly button and causing more unnecessary discomfort. But I can hang in there a couple more days.

The ugliest thing about it all is the bruising. Every time I get an IV, the bruising looks way worse than it feels.

I’m just happy to be on this side of it now and trying to rest as much as I can.

A BIG thank you to my husband and mom. My hubby for taking care of my and just being there. And to my mom for watching our son for two days, so we could focus on recovery. He was a handful during his stay. He was really into throwing his shirt and teddy bear up into the fan. Ahhh good times with a 7 year old. Anyway, I couldn’t have done it without out them!

So clearly, I am a bit behind on reviewing some awesome products. I will be catching up this week.

Stay tuned.
