I have learned that I have a Piriformis muscle and that I’ve angered it. Ahhh good times. #ChronicPain

Last Thursday was just any other chronic pain filled day. I needed some mental thereapy, so I worked on my garden for a little bit. Planted some flowers. Moved some light furniture around and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

Friday morning, I woke up with the biggest pain in my a**. Literally. I didn’t know what the hell was going on. Right in the middle of my left buttock, there was this huge knot. It hurt to the touch. It hurt to walk. It hurt to do stand up. This was a fun, new pain that I don’t remember experiencing before. But maybe I did… loooonggg ago. It reminded me of when my doctor would do a trigger point injection, right about in the same spot.

Anyway… it was miserable. I could only walk with my cane or crutch. But then, I was causing my hand and wrists to hurt. There was no winning in this situation. For two days, I pretty much stayed in bed. I was scrolling through Pinterest and saw a diagram of the human body with a red X on the buttock. I mean, seriously? This is actually a thing? Yup! It sure is.

So I tried to take it easy for a couple of days. I began stretching a bit:

The stretching really started to help loosen up some of the ridiculous tightness I was experiencing.

Then, I started to incorporate my Massage Gun. A few minutes, here and there throughout the day, really seemed to help. I am able to walk around much better and in way less pain.

I’m happy I go see my doctor on Thursday. Hopefully, he can help with something…anything…

Do you have a massage gun yet? If not, check some out here…
