Manuka Guard ~ Sinus Cleanser

Manuka Honey is fairly new to me. I have a bar of soap that I have been using for a while that is Manuka Honey, but I believe that is the extent of my experience with it, until now.

Daily Goodie Box included a sample of Manuka Guard – Sinus Cleanser . I was aware that honey is one of the best decongestants, but not that it could be used in a different form – nasally. Below are some of the benefits of Manuka Honey:

So this Sinus Cleanser couldn’t have come at a better time, for testing purposes. I have been fairly stuffy and anxious to try a new type of product to see if it works any better than the other products we have in the house.

After testing, I was incredibly impressed with how fast it worked. Once I sprayed, I immediately smelled/tasted honey. It was quite nice compared to every other nasal spray. Less than 10 minutes later, my nose is clear as can be. I am super satisfied with Manuka Guard – Sinus Cleanser .

I looked into Manuka Guard a little more and found the following (copied from the Manuka Guard FAQ):

AUTHENTIC manuka honey comes only from New Zealand. Manuka is the Maori name for the “Tea Tree” bush or tree named so by the British when they colonized New Zealand in the 1800’s. Manuka Honey is a mono-floral honey produced by ordinary bees collecting nectar from the Manuka flower.

Moon Cheese ~ White Chedda Black Peppa

Oh boy, this is probably the product I am looking forward to the most with this Daily Goodie Box. We LOVE cheese. And I am always open to trying new cheese products.

I am lucky enough to be trying Moon Cheese – White Chedda Black Peppa. First of all, I love white cheddar and love black pepper. So to start this tasting, I am already drooling. And after reading a few reviews on their website, the White Chedda Black Peppa looks to be a favorite.

After nibbling, we enjoyed what we tasted. I don’t think I would be able to eat a whole package at one sitting. Or I would need something else to eat with it. The White Chedda Black Peppa is definitely a tasty snack. I would really enjoy trying the other Moon Cheese flavors sometime, as well.

Kuju Coffee ~ Pour Over Coffee

Calling all Coffee Lovers! I am super excited to be trying Kuju Coffee from my Daily Goodie Box this month. I love coffee and want to try as many different companies I can, to find my perfect cup(s) of coffee.

Kuju Coffee makes Pour over Coffee. A crazy easy way to make coffee, wherever you are.

What sets Kuju Coffee apart from the others, is that they use wind power to pack their coffee & pour overs are 100% recyclable. They are Ethically Sourced or Fair Trade & Organic Certified. Plus, they donate 1% of all sales to the National Park Foundation.

After pouring over, I absolutely loved the taste. I add cream and sugar to my coffee and it was delicious! I really love the oak, chocolate and honey used for this blend. One tip I will give you is that as you are pouring your water into the coffee, I would recommend holding the sides to the cup. I didn’t and the whole thing plopped into the cup. Had a little clean up to do, but now I know what I doing for the second cup to be even more successful.

Rowdy Bar ~ Peanutty Dark Chocolate

If you’ve been following for a while, you know that I love protein/food bars. I have been lucky enough in the past to try Rowdy Bar through Daily Goodie Box, and I hit the jackpot again. First time, I tried the Chocolate Coconut Cashew . This time, Peanutty Dark Chocolate .

I wanted to research a bit more what sets Rowdy Bar apart from the others, and found that they use Yacon Root. Yacon Root can be used as a syrup for many health benefits, including digestion.

The yacón (Smallanthus sonchifolius) is a species of perennial daisy traditionally grown in the northern and central Andes from Colombia to northern Argentina for its crisp, sweet-tasting, tuberous roots. Their texture and flavour are very similar to jícama, mainly differing in that yacón has some slightly sweet, resinous, and floral (similar to violet) undertones to its flavour, probably due to the presence of inulin, which produces the sweet taste of the roots of elecampane, as well. Another name for yacón is Peruvian ground apple, possibly from the French name of potato, pomme de terre (ground apple). The tuber is composed mostly of water and fructooligosaccharide.

I do remember I wasn’t a huge fan of the Chocolate Coconut Cashew, but always open to try at least three products from a company before I decide if I like them or not. I may just not be in to a particular flavor.

After tasting the Peanutty Dark Chocolate , I was not a fan of this flavor either. The bar itself was really hard. I used my hands to tear a piece off and it was quite difficult. The bar itself was also tough to chew. Kinda waxy. I will pass on future purchases of this bar.

South of France ~ Hydrating Hand and Body Cream

When in comes to lotions and creams, I am always down to try new brands. This month, Daily Goodie Box sent a sample of South of France – Hydrating Hand & Body Cream.

South of France is women owned and family owned.

NON GMO, Cruelty Free, Gluten Free, Vegan.

One thing that makes South of France unique is that theirs is kettle cooked in small batches using their traditional Marseille recipe with all natural vegetable ingredients.

Also, (portions copied from their website) their products contain Mediterranean Sea Algae and found the conditioning benefits to be superior to Aloe Vera that was previously available in their liquid hand soap.

After testing on myself, this lotion is not for me. I don’t gravitate towards floral scents. I am allergic to a lot of flowers to begin with, so I never really got into any of the fragrances using floral nodes. I will say, that when I first rubbed the lotion onto my hand, I was immediately thrown back to a time when I was at my grandma’s house. I closed my eyes and found myself standing back in that bathroom and trying her lotions and perfumes. So even though this lotion is not for me, it definitely made me smile thinking about my grandma.

Miracle Tree ~ Moringa Tea – Rooibos

Calling all Tea Lovers! Here is a tea you may want to check out. Daily Goodie Box sent a sample of Miracle Tree – Organic Moringa Tea – Rooibos . You may remember, if you have been following for a while, that I am pretty much a sweet tea girl. But I do try every tea that I am sent, so I make an informed review and post.

After steeping, I have found that I am a big fan of Miracle Tree – Organic Moringa Tea – Rooibos . It has a very subtle flavor, and not overpowering in anyway. I didn’t have any honey in the house, so I used a little bit of sugar to sweeten it up a bit. It tastes quite nice. I definitely see myself drinking more tea in the near future. I need to adjust my diet anyway and this may be a good product to take with me into my new low cholesterol diet.

Green Goo ~ Love Sweet Love Bath Salts

Are you a shower or a bath person? Typically, I am a shower person. It is a lot faster, and easier for me and my Chronic Pain. It is hard for me to get up and down in a tub. And once I am in, it is super uncomfortable.

With that being said, I wasn’t quite sure how I would test the Green Goo – Love Sweet Love Bath Salts that is in this month’s Daily Goodie Box. So I went to the website, and found that this can also be used as a foot bath. Genius idea!

Here are the directions per Green Goo :

DIRECTIONS
Add to the tub or a foot bath.
For a foot bath, a few table spoons should do.
For a soak, people seem to enjoy a range from a quarter cup to a full cup. If you’re not sure, start small and add more as needed.
Please be mindful of the fact that our bath salts contain essential oils, which may result in a little extra cleaning after use.

After soaking my feet, my feet feel nice and definitely smell like hibiscus. The scent is a little too strong for my nose, but it does make my feet feel soft. I am going to do this again, here and there for a while to see if there are any long term benefits. I don’t really pamper myself like I should. This is a good way to start.
