This week, I went for my annual check up. I wasn’t quite sure how I would do. I had a feeling that something was going to be off. My diet has been awful. I already don’t eat a lot, and the stuff I do eat is junk.
So when my blood test results came back, I got the call from the doctor. My cholesterol is high. I need to adjust my diet or I will be put on medication. I already don’t like taking the pills I have to, I don’t want to add to it. Or even worse… get really sick. No thank you.
Today, I have been researching about lowering my cholesterol and the changes I need to make. Luckily, I enjoy a lot of the foods that will help. However, I am going to really have to limit the foods I love; cheese, dairy, sweets, fried foods. Ugh. This will be tough to start, but as long as I eat well 6 out of 7 days, I may treat myself here and there.
I will be trying a bunch of different brands of oatmeals, nuts (which I already love), dark chocolate, protein/fruit/nut bars and much more…
I will post more as I am trying a variety of foods.
