Back to Reality

I sit here this morning, sipping my coffee, and enjoying the quiet throughout the house. My guys and the dog are sleeping, as I listen to the morning news. Then it sets in, reality resumes tomorrow. My husband will be “back at work” from his home office. And the little one resumes virtual 1st grade on Tuesday.

As fun as holidays are, I am always ready to get back to the normal routine. Breaks can lead to chaos and scrapping all sleep routines, that we have worked so hard to establish after summer the summer break. I’m ready to get back to structure and schedules. It’s just easier for me to deal with when I know what’s expected or what’s coming next. I think those of us with Chronic Pain like to have control over something in our lives. I know I need it.

This year, I have set a few goals that I am working towards. I want to reduce my sugar intake. I want to remember to log my pain/notes on my app, daily. And I want to blog more this year.

One thing I have realized I need, in this new year, is a laptop tray for the bed. That is one of the biggest reasons it is hard to blog daily. It is so painful to sit at the desk. I like to be able to lounge back on my bed or sit up against the headboard. A good, sturdy tray would help me be able to post more, in a comfortable position.
