I was super excited when I snagged a free box of Built Bars. I had tried a couple in the past, and was split. One bar I loved, one I didn’t. I was anxious for the opportunity to try more flavors before I made a decision on whether I would purchase Built Bars in the future. (see my previous post)
In this sample box, I received 6 different flavors:
Let’s break it down and see if I can find a few favorites in this box. I already know that I love the Coconut Almond. So that will be ranked fairly high before I even start enjoying these bars. I am going to try these in my own order, of what I think would be the last appealing to the most.
Apple Almond Crisp
So just from the name, I tried this first. Thinking it would be the least appealing. Apple and chocolate doesn’t typically go together, in my mind. So my expectations were quite low on this one. Well let me tell you. It was delicious! They really made it work together. The sweet apples paired so nicely with the chocolate covering. I would give this a 4 out of 5, easily.
Carrot Cake with Walnuts
Next, I tasted the Carrot Cake with Walnuts. Again, expectations weren’t high. But I did just have my mind blown with the Apple Almond Crisp, so who knows. This could be amazing! Well…to me… it was not. At all. I was not a fan of the taste. I looked at the ingredients, trying to find what it was that I was tasting. To me, it tasted like Amaretto. And too much of it. I didn’t see that on the ingredients. I did see a chocolate liquor, so maybe that was it. I read the reviews on the Built Bar website, and people really seem to love this bar. So I would recommend trying this flavor and making your own decision. I would give this a 3 out of 5.
Chocolate and banana is a classic combination. So I would assume this bar would work. And I was right. The dried bananas are the star of this bar. It really does taste like banana bread, especially when you add the walnuts. I would give this a 4 out of 5.
The rest of this post will be updated as I try each flavor…
